Androgynous is defined as the combination of masculine and feminine characteristics into an ambiguous form. The stylist and models are blurring the lines of typical gender roles, expression, and identity. The couple is styled in items that would typically be associated with the opposite gender. Ashley lusts after Isaac- breaking the "standard".
